Question about Philly Casinos
There was just some news today that there will be a big Foxwoods casino build in South Philadelphia. Does anyone know if this is slot machines only or if there are table games, because slots only would suck.

Re: Question about Philly Casinos
Foxwoods today was awarded one of two licenses to open a SLOTS ONLY casino in Philly. Majestic Star received the lone Pittsburgh license. I didn't see who got the "at-large" licenses. Woo-hoo! -EV gambling in PA!!!

Re: Question about Philly Casinos
I live in ct and I just read that foxwoods is going to open a new slot casino similar to the one that mohegan opened in another part of Pa. And yes slots blow and you unfortunately will not get to play poker or anything else for that matter.

The PA Gaming Board specifically asked all of the applicants during the suitability/licensing hearings if they had contingency plans for future table gaming areas within their casino floors. |

Re: Question about Philly Casinos
tables games in philly would be sick... hopefully the lawmakers get fat dumb and happy off of all the slot revenue and decide they want more, quicker... a 5 minute drive to a casino would be nuts, even moreso if they opened a poker room with table gaming

Re: Question about Philly Casinos
There will be 4 casinos within a 20-minute drive of Center City, Philadelphia. (Sugarhouse, Foxwoods, Philadelphia Park, Chester Downs.)
PA should really get on the ball with the table games, IMO. NJ taxes gaming revenue at around 9%; the PA law is closer to 50%. AC is already going to take a hit with the Phily openings, even moreso if table games come along. I'm sure the AC people are watching this very closely. |

Re: Question about Philly Casinos
Have heard they want to put a slot parlor in the Getttysburg area. Anyone heard any additional information on this? Even though I am for gaming... I am against a slot parlor there.

Re: Question about Philly Casinos
Table games are way too labor intensive. They would create too many decent paying jobs. With slot machines, all you need is one guy with a huge bucket and one guy with a shotgun.
