Default Pretty Deep, Villain Plays His Hand Face Up, Decision Time. PP 400

PP NL 400, 6-max, 6-handed

I am here hunting a huge mark. In 120 hands at the table, Villain in this hand is 8/0/3. Doubt he has a re-raising range beyond the big guns. Hero has been card-catatonic since the first orbit, so he might view me as tighter-than-the-normal-guy. But in my first 9 hands I picked up AA vs. KK and flopped set over set, so I'm deepish and he covers.

Preflop: Hero is MP with $1184; Villain covers. Hero is dealt 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].

Folds to Hero, Hero raises to $15, folds to Villain on the Button, Villain raises to $45, folds back to Hero, Hero calls.

Flop: J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

Line?

I don't have a huge sample size on Villain, but I'd be stunned if he does not have AA or KK. QQ is a possibility, but I felt that a player who does not raise for 120 hands will not re-raise with QQ. AK might be in his range, but again, I don't find it very likely.

you have zero fold equity I think....depends on how much gamble you have in you. If you lead you are getting raised, if you are comfortable 3bet pushing, then i guess it's ok, if you aren't, then check call and try your damndest to spike an offsuit 7, but a club will do in a pinch...really your call. I don't want to play a 300bb pot here with this hand tho.

I favor folding preflop, you don't have position, you got caught, just let it go....calling puts you in a situation like this, which sucks.

Depth of stacks and a clear read on Villain's tiny range made it a call for me. Standrad 100 BB stack I muck.

chances are if villain's this tight preflop, he'll also have a hard time laying AA/KK down once he gets them. C/C the flop, lead any turn that gives you a hand.

Are you advising to give up on a blanked turn if Villain pots it?

With as deep stacked as you are, you probably shouldn't fold the turn ever if you'll usually win a nice bet off him on the river.

I think this is right. if your read is right, and you can put him on the big pair, then you can c/c psbs on the flop (and turn assuming it doesnt hit) b/c your implied odds are there.

I think this is a better line than opening/3-betting b/c if he is that tight he prob. isn't folding the overpair so really all you get is a coinflip situation.

if you hit on the turn or the river, lead w/ it (obv.) to prevent him from controlling the pot size w/ a check behind

Ok there is no reason to play a 600bb pot bet/3bet AI on the flop because we have 12 outs. For 300bb that's not enough for me. I would c/c a flop bet. If the turn gives me more outs (3/2), I would check raise. Otherwise, if probably c/c a reasonable bet or leading a card thast makes my hand.

Check call flop. Check raise a club or a 7 turn.

If the turn is a 6 or a 3 I consider leading out.
