Default The \"cartoon\" riots are getting out of hand. What can the US do?

I believe that Bush should make a special address to the American people and state that as a country we believe in freedom of religion and sensitivity towards other beliefs. As Americans with these beliefs we should strive to all people.

We are very close to a world disaster.

"We are very close to a world disaster."

While you see it and I see it, there's a huge cohort that will not see it. Worse still, amongst that cohort there are a lot of people that believe either 'We have it coming', 'We caused it' or some other variant of blaming America for the cancer that is radical Islam. These folks spell our doom. Focus on them, not radical Islam, for they represent the greatest threat to our civilization's future.

I am deeply ashamed at every major media organization in the US. How can they provide coverage of these events without printing at least a couple of the cartoons?

What do you suggest we do, bomb Denmark? It was *danish* publisher you know. Are you suggesting we have the right to unilaterally interfere with another nation's sovereignty?

If this turns into "a world disaster" then outraged muslims have no one to blame but themselves.

I think the old quote from Voltaire is particularly apropos right now: "I disagree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it."

I agree. The best way to get rid of that powderkeg is to blow it to kingdom come. Might as well be now.
