I would have c/raised the flop to see where you're at.

I really don't see how calling turn makes you have to call this river. Doubt a Multi-tabling winning TAG player is 3-barreling on this board with AK/AQ/AJ etc... But he could easily double barrel but give up after turn call as there really are no draws hero can have here.

I would also c/r this flop. Then you get the money from his cb and you don't let him draw to overcards. He seems too tight to be the kind to shove overcards in that situation.

With that logic I'm sure you can inform us about what happens when he doesn't...

Then he will check behind sometimes and second barrel sometimes, thereby making them an important part of his semibluffing range on turn, or giving him a chance to draw to 6 outs twice for free.
It might still be better to c/c, but there are positive sides to c/ring as well.

ok but he has 6 outs so we dont really have to protect our hand like that and we arent getting any value out of it. better to let him keep putting money in w/ 6 outs

Actually he has more bluff outs than 6. He can fire a second barrel on any A, K, Q or J which is 14 outs (assuming he holds high cards).
