Low Limit Online Poker Downswings
I don't keep live game stats so I have nothing to compare this to. I'm a new online player (7000 hands) keeping Poker Tracker stats. Had this downswing in 2/4 limit game recently....
Total Hands 934 Vol. Put $ in Pot 18% BB/100 Hands -12 Went to SD 29% Win at SD 57% 450 bucks seems like a lot over 934 hands considering I didn't play a large number of hands. After reviewing each hand, I can attribute $60 dollars in losses to playing some crappy starting hands. But that still leaves win rate of -10.5 BB/100, which I have a hard time chalking up to bad play. So question is, is that an unusually bad run of cards? Or is it within the expected variance for a basically TAG style of play (which I have no clue how to calculate)? |

Re: Low Limit Online Poker Downswings
Whoa whoa whoa. I see no leaks at all from the stats provided. Get that went to show down lower though. You should only be showing down a hand in limit holdem when you have top pair top kicker or better.
Report back after adjustments. |

Re: Low Limit Online Poker Downswings
112 BB downswings are not every day occurrences but they are not uncommon. i haven't played limit in such a long time to know stats but they seem goodish. i agree went to s/d is a little high but your w$sd is also high so that probably isn't the problem. you might be getting run over, ie folding the best hand too often. if your bankroll is <1k i would drop down. what are your overall winnings for those 7k hands?

I took another look and the SD figure is a bit skewed because I opened a table and have 16 hands in the SD total that were just checked down all the way. As far as only showing down TPTK, are you suggesting or check/folding or folding every time an overcard to your pair hits the river? I admit that I will frequently play to SD when an overcard hits the river since I still seem to be showing down the best hand at least 1/3 of the time that happens and the pot is usually paying better than 3:1. Thanks again. |
