Re: Unreal, just unreal
There should be a lifetime ban for people who post bad beat hands that they themselves played like total crap- not just partial crap, really really completely functional poo.

Re: Unreal, just unreal
But once villian pairs his door card, it is a definitely a good idea to raise the great broadway draw.

Re: Unreal, just unreal
I would not play A-K-7 on 3rd street.

Re: Unreal, just unreal
peanut flush,
I would read seven card stud for advanced players (sklansky) right away if you are going to play seriously. In the mean time, when the opponent pairs his door card, and you don't have trips higher than his door, fold. |

Re: Unreal, just unreal
move down in limits, quick!!!!
The stud board has great patience, no severe flaming even when one is in order. BTW, Full Tilt shuffles downcards in decreasing order at showdown so Villain may have trip 3's on 4th, although his 3rd street action does point to buried 9's. - Mac |

Well, at least the original poster didn't say that he needs to move up to a higher limit, where people would respect his raises....

Re: Unreal, just unreal
As fun as the needling is, in the interest of helping out one of the stud brotherhood, it's worth addressing the root of ThePeanutFlush's inquiry: He can't believe anybody would call a bet from open trips on the end. The pot is so huge from all the optimistic play and bluster earlier in the hand that any made hand beating your board is going to want to see the cards at the end, and any hand with a draw to a boat will take the river card.
If the hand had been played cheaply, then making bets on the expensive streets would reduce the opponents' odds enough that many hands would fold a small pot that might call in a big pot. Since it was obvious early in the hand that it wouldn't be a small pot, you had great reason to ditch your bags early: Dudes want to see the river in big pots, where your only way to win is with the best hand, and you are miles from there. |
