Default give back to the FANS!!!

the fact that the 2007 Home Run Derby (a part of "America's greatest pastime" all-star extravaganza) will not include Barry Bonds or Ken Griffey Jr is wrong...

These two future hall-of-famers owe it to the fans to be a part of this...

<Bonds> How can one of the greatest baseball players of our time, the same player that is chasing the most sought after record in all of pro sports(the home run record) not be a part of the Home Run Derby?

<Griffey Jr> Griffey has come full circle and always been such a likeable player...his smooth stroke has resurfaced in the latter part of his career...so should his participation in the Derby.

Do you also think Michael Jordan should have kept competing in the Slam Dunk Contest every year? No offense to those who have fun competing in or watching it, but I think most people outgrow that stupid crap, if they weren't above it to begin with (Chris Berman obviously notwithstanding).

HR derby is fun...but let some new blood in. Plus Bonds is really old and actually needs the rest.

The rising star idea is so stupid.

I want to see Vince Carter every year.

the problem is (for basketball especially) is the established stars have very little to gain and a lot to lose... if vince loses the dunk contest he loses a lot of street cred... and would probably recieve less future endorsements

As a phillies fan, the home run derby the past two years was by far the highlight of the baseball season for me. which is pathetic.
