I figured that I'd find out where I was at with the raise [/ QUOTE ] So you find out if you are a) beat or b) ahead. And when you're beat you get all your money in and when you are ahead you get him to fold. Hope you see why this line of thinking and that raise sucks. Also its way too big imo. This raise is gonna get him to fold every single hand you beat and stack you most of the time. |

Re: Donkey style
I was on some monkey tilt vs this dude, he was holding over me hard. Thought I might've caught him drawing. He had a set of deuces.

Re: Donkey style
Horrible.
I'd 3bet preflop. Checkraising half your stack here to "find out where you are" is atrocious, as you're effectively committing your entire stack when you could very easily be crushed by UTG's hand. As played, you have to call, obviously. It looks like Button has something like QdJd, though if he had 22 or AK you should make a note. |

Re: Donkey style
If you want to raise the flop make it 150. Having said that I think flop is any easy call. No one is value betting worse then your hand in a 3 way pot on the turn or river so you will get the information you need on future streets.

Re: Donkey style
I always find it funny when people say something like..."so I raised to find out where I was", then you look at the stakes they are playing and it is above 200nl.
OP...rid yourself of thinking raising for info is a good play |

Re: Donkey style
I actually thought I had the best hand and wanted to take it down right there.

OP, you have 3 posts in this thread that basically all say 3 different things/thoughts. What in the world are you talking about?
