For me i find it easiest to click and hold on the image to make it stop, then switching her body around in my head. In other words I switch her legs and arms so that right becomes left and vice versa. Then once the image starts again she's going the other way.

Here's how I can flip it.

If it looks like it's going clockwise I stare at the top of the shadow. If it looks like it's going counterclockwise I stare at her calf (the one on the leg that's straight).

This flips it every time, although sometimes after a few rotations.

I initially saw her going counter-clockwise, but I could flip it in my head to see her going clockwise as well.

According to the test i immediately see counter and thus left side... but after 30 seconds i could make her go either way... according to the person who brought up the folded hand test i am left hand on top so that means right side...

somewhere on the net there is a serious of questions and tests that shows you how far to the right or left you are and i was pretty much near the middle slightly on the right side if i remember... i am not going to find it but its a cool test... it also asks lots of visual / auditory questions and puts you in the frontal or rear regions of the brain... after you take the test a little dot moves to the spot where your brain is most dominate or something....

I think I'm like most of the people here who could see both directions with effort. started clockwise. looked away for a second, looked back and she was counter clockwise.

This is awesome. I've been looking at this a lot the past couple of days and at first I could only see it clockwise and now I can switch it to what ever I want really fast.

this is how I do it. to go counterclockwise I just forget everything, there is nothing in the world but me and this dancer and it is spinning counterclockwise that is all i know. I also really imagine it going counterclockwise and I kind of look off and up and to my left just above the picture and it is still in view and I see it change, then I look at it completely.

i can still only see clockwise in the original, and the bottom foot in the second one in your link seems to still be going clockwise.

it does help explain how others see it counter, tho
