Default Am I supposed to get away from this TP2K Stars 15k

about 2000 runners Stars15k 10 dollar comp.

I have done ok and steadily built my stack after an early hiccup.

This guy folded to by 1/2 pot C-bet on an Ace high flop when I had 88 a couple of orbits ago.

I had raised UTG the previous hand with AKs, got no callers and did not show.

No, I don't think you're supposed to lay this down.

I bet 750 on the flop. Bet 2000 on the turn or check raise him, but I don't give up to a 1/2 pot bet on the turn. I think you surrendered your aggression too early. Now if my check raise or turn bet is met with a show of strength, then yeah, maybe I consider the set or AK possibilty, but not yet.

i would have bet out on the turn as well.... thats a real passive play and he could see it as you have like QQ or JJ and you were tryin to protect your hand on the flop and then give up on the turn

I know. I just had this horrible feeling I was beat.

What do I do when I bet 1500ish on turn, if im raised, if he calls? Do I really have enough chips to fold??

I know its basic situation but I just felt I was behind

I would bet 1500 on the turn and shove the river. You stack worse aces sooooo often in low buyin tournaments.

I think i would bet the turn (700 or so) and then check fold the river if i get called.

As played, I think I fold to his turn bet (but it's close IMO). You raised UTG and bet out at an ace high flop with no draws out. This tells me that the guy has something - I think you will get shown AK or a set here quite often. Also, he has you
covered so why risk stacking off?

i raise to 450 pre (pot 1125)
bet 750 on the flop (pot 2625)

many turn options:

1. cc 1200 turn, push ai river 3265 into 5025 pot. opponent gets 2.5:1
2. crai turn 4465 into a 3825 pot. opponent gets 1.9:1
3. bet 1500 on the turn and hope to get it in. push river if called. 2965 into a 5625 river pot. opponent gets 1.9:1

3>>1>>2

your way:

1. cc 1200 turn, push ai river 3415 into 4725 pot. opponent gets 2.4:1
2. crai turn 4615 into a 3525 pot. opponent gets 1.8:1
3. bet 1200 on the turn and hope to get it in. push river if called. 3415 into a 4725 river pot. opponent gets 2.4:1

i would say your're often against A9-AJ that will prob go all the way. if you run into 88 too bad.

i like the turn check sometimes as it will make up for the times you give up your CB on the turn which may give you a free card in the future if your opponents know you can check strong hands.

I can't believe how many people are willing to stack off 38 BB out of position with top pair after he called your UTG raise. This is a tournament folks - why would you want to risk it all in this situation. I know it only a $10 entry but that's no excuse for fishiness (IMO )
