Default Harry Demetrieu Escorted Out of tournament??

Here is something interesting. Anyone know more about this incident?
http://pokerwire.com/results.php?tit...&uid=18176
Harry Demetrieu voiced his opinion about the format for today's shootout. He shouted that he wanted a refund. He was given a 30-minute penalty, but continued his protest, and was escorted out of the poker room and ejected from the tournament.

Mentioned here.

That thread has a whole lot more about how Harry feels about Harrah's in general. CP noted it, but that post got deleted in their live updates blog within a few minutes.

Very nice.

Harry D objected. He said that this wasn't the advertised event and he wanted a refund, and he had a point. A six handed freezeout is not the same as a ten handed one. The strategy is different and you have to win more tables to make the final.

[/ QUOTE ]

I believe that they are going to ten-player tables after the first round. Might Harry have not acted out if he realized this?

Yeah, upon re-reading this I think he was being a bit petty but he'd have a case if someone else gave a [censored]. Initially I thought it was because some tables had more players than others.

Harry seems to be a little self-righteous, no?

I can't disagree with a single point he's made in his complaints, but really.... suck it up.

Yes maybe he should suck it up, after all he only paid a measly 2 thousand + something dollars to enter that tourney

Don't you still have to win two tables to make the final table? I suppose they could have made the first round 10-handed and the 2nd round 6-handed. Or just had a 6-person final table. But it has to be 10-10-6 in some combination, unless you want to deal with uneven tables. What is the big deal?

I fact, the rules of the tournament state that there would be 100 players advancing to the 2nd round. They don't say anything about the number of players at the first round tables except that their might be 11 players. Making the first round 6-handed was the only way not to break the rules assuming there were actually only 600 people signed up.

Just an addendum: The tournament was played out exactly as advertised. They state 100 ppl make day 2, and the only way to have that happen with 600 entrants is to have 100 6 person tables. No where do they state there will be full tables.

But even so, if he's +EV over the field, get over yourself. You could get worked up over every minor travesty that happens in your life, or you can roll with the punches.

Given that he already had a beef with the organizers about the HORSE event and the overall mishandling of the WSOP by them, this doesn't surprise me.

I think the floor has been overly liberal in handing out penalties instead of seeing why players could be frustrated. I think next year's WSOP will see a lot of changes or the popularity of certain events will start to die down a bit.
