He is, but this thread should be nixed. Unfortunately, it's pretty hard to censor this one, since ching has plenty of legit uses (cha-ching!) and Chong is a perfectly normal last name.

It's really not any different than an African American referring to himself as a [censored]. He might not view it as a slur, but that really doesn't matter.

The thread is entertaining, but Mat's point is valid.

well i'm not going around telling black guys not to use the n word either, i mean it's censored on this site so i suppose ching chong could be a no no too, but i'm not going to tell people how to talk about themselves

are you [censored] kidding me? that's just so stupid i can't believe it.

a black guy calls himself some name or the other, some other black guy is standing nearby -- he's offended, and horribly so, in exactly the same way *he* would be if a white guy had used the same word. it's that guy this form of censorship protects. worrying about what one person calls themselves in a vacuum is clearly stupid.

i said it's censored on the site and i have no problem with it, i am just personally not going around being the PC police for other races, it's not my place to tell a black guy or a spanish guy what slang to use about himself.

when he starts calling me a pinche gringo or a cracker or whatever then i'll say something but otherwise IDGAF what he says
