3/5 boat facing scary river raise
3/5, live game. Villian is one of the best players who regularly plays in this game, and we have played a bunch of hours together. He's LAG, but very sharp. He probably regards me as TAG.
Chip counts: Hero: $1070 UTG: $940 Hero is BB with K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Preflop: UTG raises to $20, 6 folds, SB calls, hero calls. Flop ($57): A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] SB checks, hero bets $25, UTG raises to $50, SB folds, hero calls. Turn ($157): K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Hero bets $90, UTG calls. River ($337): T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Hero bets $180, UTG raises all-in $790, hero...? There's $1300 in the pot and it cost me $610 to call. Can I fold this here, or am I stuck? I know I should have folded to his raise on the flop. Now I think i'm probably beat and the best I can hope for is a chop. Am I stuck here? Is this a cooler or should I be able to get away from this? Should I have even bet this river? What hands call me that I beat? |

Re: 3/5 boat facing scary river raise
Don't think I like the donk bet against him on this flop. This board slapped opponents range hard. I think you are more likely to c/r if you flopped straight or even 2pair given the likelyhood of a c-bet coming.
C/c'ng flop isn't terrible if floating here gives you a free turn card often enough. As played I fold. His minraise on the flop and call on the turn look like he is walking the dog. |

Re: 3/5 boat facing scary river raise
donk bet is pretty dumb. he will just fold worse hands and never fold better
