Default dont bluff mr 42

I was multitabling and only looked at who villian was on the river. Peeled on the flop to bluff turn. Obv a bad move vs 42.

Comments? Mostly looking to see what others think of optimal play vs 42.

Ohpa - I guess he thought he had a low

BTW, Your flop play is to set up your turn play right? I never make any plays like this. Please explain.

Kinda bold if you ask me. I never play shorthanded online though.

Doubt it. He plays 100k hands a month. Think he just wants me to know not to bluff him

Ya, was going to checkraise or lead most turns. I played awful this session and quit. Won a few hundred by sheer luck.

Hey Tuco - I'm mainly a PLO8 player, but I'm wondering if I could have some of your wisdom here. I'm assuming that you're assuming your check-raise on the turn is profitable against an average player.

I'm just wondering what the logic is, though. I don't think a hand with a low draw would fold this turn. Also, wouldn't your average player with just a low draw take a free card after a continuation bet on the flop?

If villain calls your check raise, are you betting if any high card comes out on the river? If he has a piece of high, do you think average player folds to a bet if the river is a high card?

If the river is a low card but not a 3, are you still betting or just check calling?

Is the assumption here that you can bluff a player with an A2 who is counterfeited by the turn?

New to the forum, long time lurker. Thanks.

If he does check the turn behind I can pick up the pot on almost all rivers that don't bring a low. It's ok if he calls the turn with a low draw as there is a very good chance that my low draw is better than his. My call on the flop will tell most players that I flopped high. A turn cr is much stronger than a flop bet or cr so if the river blanks I will scoop alot of the time. I don't do this very often, so it is effective against players paying attention.

I'm going to bet almost all high rivers. If he has two pair or better hes calling for sure. Alot will call with AA and try and counterfeit opponents' two pair but will laydown on the river if they are unimproved. Remember that this flop is hard to hit a preflop raiser as they typically have an ace and a baby in their hand.

Check calling against randoms and betting against 42 and players like him.

This isn't that strange for him. That guy gets hit w/ the low+flush screwplay so often that he doesn't fold pairs any longer.

Check-calling is the new sucker's play anyway (at least vs. anyone w/ experience).
