Default stumped...

Playing in a decent, 8handed 10/20 game. It's just filling up from running as a great 5handed game.

I raise A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] UTG. 4 folds to button who cold-calls 2.

In my extensive notes on button he seems like a decent, TAGy player. He hasn't gotten out of line preflop with bad hands, and does the "right" things with them, open-raising and isolation-raising, defending his blinds aggressively, etc. I'd say he's one of the better players in this game, though that's not saying too much. He makes some mistakes by peeling a bit too light in some spots, and might get a bit too tricky for his own good.

So, wtf is he CC'ing here?

Now, it gets better.

Flop: Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

I bet, he calls. Huh?

Turn: 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

I check, he bets, I ?

If he is decent here, his range is huge, especially if the blinds are tight, he honestly could have alot of hands, i call the turn and re evauluate on the river.

i agree with sonartc, i'd call his turn bet and reevaluate on the river. most tags will try to steal the pot when you check to him on the turn in this spot. you are signaling i don't have a piece of this board or i'm afraid of this queen so tags feel obliged to bet here to represent strength and try to steal the pot. by the river, if they have nothing they will check behind so if you call the turn you may still have a chance to win the hand unimproved.

KJs?

I call turn trying to give off the best "i'm gonna call you down tell" (not too fast) and fold river if he bets again.

I know this doesn't answer the question but I would bet that turn.

Middle pair + a queen are a large % of his range, which you probably know. His range isn't all that large, especially since it doesn't sound like he could be playing your weaknesses. You are getting raised on this turn by nearly anything that peels, so check/call is perfect. I'd fold the river...there aren't enough hands you beat imo. Don't make a habit of it though...it's way too easy to float somebody who checks the turn and folds the river a reliable %.

I'd agree based you your description that he would typically have a middle pp or a hand like QTs, KTs, AJs, ATs, KQ... or something along those lines. Perhaps with the intension of making a play if he doesnt hit and the opportunity presents itself.

I think you have a tough choice on the turn... and your description makes it even tougher...

Yep, I'm playing this way with any PP, Q or A.

I'm tempted to screwplay the turn if he's capable of folds.
