Re: Mid Set, Flop Wet RR to me......
If this board was less drawy, I would say call hoping to get the BB to come along and then you could push the turn. But since this is such an inviting board, I would push on the flop. If someone already has the straight, that's just a cooler and you still have outs to outdraw them.

Re: Mid Set, Flop Wet RR to me......
Range is alot wider than just a st8. Run pokerstove vs a range that you think he has and see how 99 fairs.
CO can do this with an over pair, all the two pair hands, AJ, maybe 77, 1010, 88, QJ. Thats a wide range and all reasonable. I like Shove here due to stack sizes. Since your posting, it prob was QJ. My guess would be JJ. |

Re: Mid Set, Flop Wet RR to me......
Just shove or 3 bet nearish pot, depending on stack sizes. You're usually way ahead here and have plenty of outs if anyone happened to flop a set. You don't want them drawing for cheap with a board this coordinated.

Re: Mid Set, Flop Wet RR to me......
Id pop it to $10. I mean, the straight is definately a possibilty. Cut off isn't to aggressive though which worries me. Any reads?

Re: Mid Set, Flop Wet RR to me......
I'm new at this NL nonsense, but...
Gotta believe this CO 3-bets many hands preflop. The call+flop raise is prob. a range like QJs/JTs/J9s/98s/76s with something like 88 being pretty rare. You re-pop or shove and a straight will call, and not a whole lot else unless he's much worse than he looks. Your hand is face-up at that point really. You're too short for 3-betting to really count. I doubt you can milk along extra equity from straight draws with a smaller raise, if that's even desirable. You aren't so terrible against just a straight in a pot like this, and you have to deal with all the hands you beat but won't call a shove somehow. Folding doesn't cut it for me. Shove. |
