400NL river decision with AA
Another AA hand, fascinating, I know.
No reads on villian, first round at the table. $400 effective stacks. UTG limps, folds round to me in SB. I raise to $16 with A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], BB folds, UTG calls. Flop: Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] I bet $30 into a $36 pot, call. Turn: 4 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] I bet $74 into a $96 pot, call. River Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. Pot $244. $380 left to bet. I ??? If I check how do I respond to, say, a 3/4 pot bet? What about a push? |

Re: 400NL river decision with AA
check
make a read probably call is this full ring or 6max? do you play as "tdurden"? about the bet sizes: Id be more apt to fold to a push, obviously. Why? 1, a push seems like a donk saying "YES I HIT TRIPS IM ALL IN". 2, a smaller bet means we need to win less to profitably call. Thing is, a queen largely doesnt make alot of sense, but this hinges on if he's tight or loose, which you dont know, also if its short or full, which I dont know. too bad this isnt live, bc then he could show you a king and say "KQ or KT". that would be baller. |

I check and call most bets, maybe some kind of timing tell could induce me to fold but Im basically always calling a pot or 3/4 pot bet. Nothing got there and I dont see how he has a Q here really.

[/ QUOTE ] Uhm, does villian always raise or fold AQ or KQ on that board or preflop? I think villian's two most likley hands are a straight or flush draw, or a queen. I think you can discount the rest. If this guy can fire barrels at obvious river scare cards, then check / call. I don't see much value in betting, unless you are certian he won't bluff raise you. In which case I medium blocker / value bet is in order. Personally I like a check call, but nothing too big - definatley not a shove =-) |

Re: 400NL river decision with AA
I checked, he bet $200 and I made a bad fold.
After playing with him for another few orbits it became obvious I should have called in an instant, but even with my more limited information I still think it was a bad fold. Bobbo, No, I don't play as tdurden. |
