i am like bob - not much of a scrabble player but a skilled anagrammer - i found potential bingoes in number one and number three right away, and i think five's got one too if i looked long enough

what were the quick 1 and 3 ones your got? at a quick glance, i only got up to HALTER and TICKED. but i'm not a strong anagrammer and i don't think bob's description would make him one either.

I'm assuming "bingo" is playing all 7 letters, while a potential bingo means it must hit on another tile?

So like "ETHEREAL" for the first one?

i got 'healthier' with an open 'i' and further/farther with an open r. i'm sure there's more.

for 3 i got 'kinetic'

and for 5 i got rewards/redraws

An important scrabble skill is rack management. With 11 tiles you would rarely end up with random racks becuase it would be a lot easier to achieve good balances you need to bingo. I think this bet relies on how clueless the novice is. If the person is the kind of person who isn't good at any games, i think they dont have a chance, if they have some sense of whats going on i think they would win. I'm pretty sure I could beat a world class player with 11 tiles.
