If his range is JJ+, AK, this is actually a fold given odds. Surprised no one picked up on that. If he's as bad as people are saying, it's obviously an instant call.

The range could look something like this:

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 44.965% 28.64% 16.33% 13240108 7548339.00 { AcKd }
Hand 1: 55.035% 38.71% 16.33% 17895422 7548339.00 { AdAs, AhAs, KdKs, KhKs, QQ-JJ, AKs, A4s, AKo }

Slightly reduced probability of AA/KK, added A4s as the random trash hand. We need something like 43.5% equity to call here. Someone correct me if I made a mistake.

someone other than me said it best:

I have exactly $400 in the BB with AKo.

Catcher makes it $16 to go UTG 6 handed and it folds to me.

I make it $52.

He shoves.

I don't think we have any terribly interesting history, but we play together a pretty healthy amount. Also, this session JUST started, so no immediatly relevant metagame is at play.

does catcher really do this w/ AA given no history? Sometimes I think people need to honestly realize that just b/c people in the long run could shove AA here doesnt mean it will ever show up early in a session with no history where he might easily want to 4bet less or just flat call.

Easy fold. Catcher is such a preflop nit.
