spnino wtf make a raise 6x BB?

Do you ever play live? 6x BB is low-standard.

i agree with this in most games but this table was playing pretty tight and the standard raise was between $60 and $100 so i dont really have a problem with him opening for $80 here.

the kid he was up against is kind of new to higher stakes nl and he's not really on online player fwiw. he had been playing in the big game for the whole week so i had a decent amount of hours with him and he had been making the occasional move from time to time and showing to setup an image for himself and also to prove he could hold his own at higher stakes i guess. he played relatively loose for the table and hated to give up pots where he thought he had any chance of winning.
i think calling his flop c/r is fine but i think when he bets out ont he turn for that amount he can probably beat QQ here, i think if he has Jx or a random pp he's checking this turn 98% of the time. he never really wanted to get into huge pots w/o the goods so i think when he continues past the flop he probably has you crushed. he also wasn't ever very agg. with draws so i dont think a flush draw is really in his range here often

checking the flop is the stone cold nuts here, i really am a fan of it.

how have those games been lately? i played in it once, hit a set in first orbit, made ~2k and left the next orbit. was a pretty shortstacked nitty game, huh? the blind situation makes people more passive i think or maybe thats just the standard of live play

is the game getting at all good lately? how often does it run and how often does the whole table have >5k?

the 5-10 20 bring in always confused me a little and never understood why they didn't just make it 5-10 or 10-20 but w/e. on saturday night (when this hand took place) the game was 10-20 blinds no bring in and uncapped (it was 2500 max for a bit but we changed it) with most stacks between 3-10k. unfortunately we never had any really bad players show up so it was a pretty nitty game... as far as live games go

If villain is not crazy, once OP calls the turn it's highly unlikely villain fires a 3rd time without having him beat here.

K I can't describe why but I REALLY like a flop check here.

Anyone suggest reasons why?
