Default proper etiquete, exposed hole card

Its bet and called. Angry losing player throws his cards past the muck into the space of another player. One card turns face up. Is it bad form to ask to see what the the other card is? What if you were not involved in the hand?

I think it's in bad form to ask to see any card of a losing hand.

Unless you think someone is cheating, and this doesn't look like that spot, I would NEVER ask to see someones cards.

Let them lose in peace.

What does one of the cards turning face up have to do with asking to see the player's hand that he obviously didn't want to be shown?

Yeah - he lost. Don't aggravate him more. He might leave.

he has no obligation to show his hand as far as I know. The winning hand must flip both cards but if he's meaning to toss them in the muck face down and one lands face up, thats different. However some casinos have a show one, show em all rule where if you show someone a losing hand/card, you must show the whole table if requested by a player. So asking what the revealed card is is cool, but asking about the down card isn't.

I suppose this is somebody calling out a bluff. If I call a bluffer and he mucks his cards and gives up the pot, I wait for my chips, then muck my hand and move on.

In your case, I would not bother to ask to see the down card but I would want to know what the exposed card was if someone else saw it and I didn't.

I always find it funny when the bettor (9 seat or other seat not directly in front of the dealer) decides to show 1 (?) card to the guy he bet out of the pot (usually player next to them) then another player asks to see it after the cards have been released to the dealer. The dealer, in this case (several times) may not have seen which card was shown, so by rule, show one show all and they flip up both cards.

Now bettor gets upset saying he only showed one card. My response, don't be a douche. How is the dealer automatically supposed to know what card the 9 seat just showed the 8 seat. Give me a break. Just show em, lol.

"SHOW THE BLUFF, IT'S GOOD FOR THE GAME!" was yelled at a game I was in the other day. I couldn't help but laugh and say "good one" lol
