Re: Standard haircut tip?
I own a salon. Guys' haircuts range from $25-$30, and the tips range from $5-$10. Girls' range from $40-$58, and tips range from $5-15.
The girl taking your change and leaving is terrible etiquette, and if I heard someone at my salon did that, it wouldn't be pretty. |

Re: Standard haircut tip?
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] 1. Search OOT on tips and tipping 2. No, $2 was the standard tip when they cost $9. Now that you're an adult, you should be tipping around $5. 3. Stop going to Supercuts and start going some place nicer. Get one stylist and stick with her. [/ QUOTE ] shut up. [/ QUOTE ] so you post asking if this was ridiculous. you're told that you are indeed being absurd. so you respond with shut up. nice. who seriously expects change for a 5 on a tip? |

[/ QUOTE ] I think if you read my first reply to the first response, it is clear I am willing to listen to alternative thoughts. I get annoyed by the token "I'm going to be cool with a retarded list bashing OP" post that somebody feels compelled to make in EVERY thread because they think they're clever- as if to expect a standing ovation or something. Search function - are you F-ing serious? OOT by its nature is clutter and crap. God forbid the "how many times a day do you pick your ass?" thread get bumped to the 2nd page. |

Re: Standard haircut tip?
DOn't put yourself in the gray zone - either give her 17/18 - or hand her a 50/100 - or use a c-card. I'm sure she gets some $5 tips.

Re: Standard haircut tip?
[ QUOTE ]
Either give her $17 or just give her a $5 tip instead. Asking for $3 back is pretty lame. If you don't have the right change don't be a nit. [/ QUOTE ] I thinks its pretty presumptious for the sty;ist to just assume the remainder is the tip. At restaurants do they just take your money and assume whatever remains is the tip? no they will ask if chnge is needed. when I get my haircut they have always given me all my change then I give back what the tip will be. If you dont tell them to keep the change, its pretty bad manners to not at least ask the customer what should be done. |

Re: Standard haircut tip?
A) Tip more than $2
B) The chick was rude C) supercuts? end of thread edit: you may have deserved the rudeness for getting a cut at supercuts. |

Re: Standard haircut tip?
actually this situation is sort of complex.
a $2 tip for a haircut is lame, however it is supercuts. i doubt the aveage service is worth more than $2, but these are people who use tips to greatly enhance their earn. ?????? |
