Re: AFI Top 50 Movie Stars
Hmm, Gene Hackman, Morgan Freeman, Ed Norton, Johnny Depp would probably be worthy of consideration now or in the future.
For women, Kiera Knightly depending on how her career unfolds in the future. Natalie Portman would also fit into this category. Just a few nominations. |

Re: AFI Top 50 Movie Stars
Jack Lemmon (TV before 1950 but no movies)
Michael Douglass Jeff Bridges Arnold Schwartzenager John Travolta James Colburn Matt Damon Bruce Willis Dean Martin Jerry Lewis (Martin and Lewis started right around 1950 I think) Jane Fonda Not saying these folks should be on the list (sans Lemmon) but they probably deserve consideration due to "stardom". James Dean? Guy was only in 3 movies and none before 1950? He shouldn't qualify because of that? I guess body of work and range isn't a consideration? |

Re: AFI Top 50 Movie Stars
Sean Penn
If he keeps going, maybe Viggo Mortenson (LoTR, Perfect Murder, History of Violence, and I'm told he's phenomenal in Eastern Promises) Sean [censored] Connery? Jeff Bridges John Goodman Steve Buscemi John Turtorro PS Hoffman (yeah I just went Lebowski there, but look how strong the cast of that movie is...) Charlize Theron Frances McDormand |
