Acting is stupid. At the card room I go to a Hollywooder gets brought out back for a proper beating, free of charge. Usually the Hollywooding stops. If not, another beating is provided. This time the guy has to pay 3bbs for it. Never seen it happen a third time.

Oh. Ok, glad I didn't Hollywood then...

I guess I was on tilt/"I'll show him" 3-betting the flop. Gotta control my emotions more and this was one where I was borderline, which is why I posted it.
Thanks for your help, guys.

Raising ATo is fine against poor players just the same as acting weak can be right against them.
Of course this isn't something that should be done very often but can work at the right moment. This seems like the perfect situation and opponent for it.

good catch. pf raise is close.

granted we don't have a very complete read on what this 'ok, unimaginative player' might limp with.
Do you feel AJo is an easy raise?

Chesspain, ATo is a fine hand to raise one limper with. It's not a no-brainer, but plenty of good players have success isolating limpers with AT. Regardless, it's close enough that it is in no way a sign of tilt to do so.
