Does betting out AK/AJ/possibly an underpair not outweigh getting a free card? Am I really that far off?

[/ QUOTE ]

Do you really think he will fold AJ and AK if we bet the turn?

If he does he is an idiot. He has 10 cards to improve or the best hand almost always.

The flop raise is close but ok IMO. He will often fold AK, AQ, AJ on a non broadway turn. However when he picks up a straight draw along with his pair outs Hero's FE drops dramatically and he should take the free card.

Ok, so I checked. And I know I pretty much layed out my hand out open, I'm still waiting for my outs.

Is there a larger than 20% possibility that villain will fold if I bet? Or does the small-middlish size of the pot say: "let go, you lost the hand"?

GRUNCH:

I think a good, tight player is calling down a pf 3-betting hand. Plus, if he's overly aggressive post flop, there's extra risk of c/r. Plus, Q and T aren't the scariest cards in the world, but they are somewhat scary. I'd take the free card...

On the Qc river, I think only hand s you beat are folding. Just check behind.

A read would be good here.

I don't think a bet is all that bad if you've never seen villain showdown ace-high before. It's also a good time to find out whether to consider river bluffs when he checks.

Given all other things, easy turn and river check. We got our free card, so let's take it. We got our free SD, so let's take that. Villain and his range is never folding.
