Default Alien in the redwoods

Thought this was interesting... My wife took this photo on a hike. When I adjusted the brightness/contrast, the lens flare caught my eye. There were no digital effects used in these photos except adjusting brightness, contrast, and color balance to bring out the image. Pretty weird.

The technical term for it is lens flare.

Thanks. That's why I used that term in my OP. Back to my question... have you ever seen a lens flare like that before?
