Re: \"All In\" ..the poker movie
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] I thought Shade was supposed to be the worst poker movie ever made, or maybe Lucky You. [/ QUOTE ] Nope. I've seen all 3. All In is the worst poker movie ever, and it's not very close. This coming from someone who is in medical school and plays poker (though I am not a hot female). [/ QUOTE ] i dont get how any of the above makes your opinion matter more than the next guy. if anything, ur being a med student probably limits the time u have to watch movies. i dont know if ur a resident yet, but u work like 70hrs a week, and get paid less than i do. at least my sis had it that way. |

Re: \"All In\" ..the poker movie
I saw a video on the net which was untitled. It had Madsen talking game theory and optimal open shove/reshove strategy with his 10 year old daughter and I though it was either a online site commercial or some weird spoof. Apparently someone thought it would be smart to finance a full length movie.

Re: \"All In\" ..the poker movie
[ QUOTE ]
Never seen aces but I dunno if it could possibly be as bad as all in. All in is just so unbelievably bad. Like you know that chill that goes thru ur body when somebody just says the wrong thing at the wrong time or when you see something really really cheesy?? When you watch this movie you get that feeling x10 and it doesn't go away till like a day after you watch it. This movie is a nightmare. It's not even a fun to watch cuz it's so bad , it's just like listenin to somebody scratch a chalkboard for an hour n a half. You have to see this movie. [/ QUOTE ] Wasn't gonna view this gem until I read your review. I just have to see if it is really that bad. |

Re: \"All In\" ..the poker movie
I've downloaded "All In" and "Lucky You" in the last week or so, "all in" was agreed the worst poker movie ever and in the running for worst movie ever, i was baffled by good actors in the movie, and the 4 sec 8 sec thing had me crackin up. That and the best quote in the history of poker movies "I've never lost an all-in bet" who would even think that was a probably thing to write it in the script? "Lucky You" was entertaining, it was less about "love" and more about poker and how alot of really good players have that streak that makes them keep going when they could stop and be set....just watched the trailer for the documentary "all in" that was in this thread, those guys are idiots too, the "online" guy saying some months he could travel anywhere and some months he can't pay rent? try a savings account bozo, pull some money out one month and you'll survive....but anyway....I love the way "All In" had ace, her dead dad, iron eagle and the doctor all make the final table. "Lucky You" kinda did the same thing, they had the father and son and another gal that they were playing with make the final table of the Main Event, 3 "pros" at a final table of the main event would be rare as hell these days, and they set it back in 2003 and kept talking about how poker was going to boom and this would be their last shot at the big one, kinda lame to go back in time and act like you know whats going to happen

Re: \"All In\" ..the poker movie
I haven't seen All in, but if it is 1/2 as bad as ACes, it must be the worst movie ever. Aces was soooo lame. I've seen better acting in amatuer pornos. Then, when they go to these big stakes games, what kinda chips do they use? Dice chips? C'mon, did they have anyone with any poker experience advising that movie? I only watched the first 20 minutes, but that was all I can handle.

Re: \"All In\" ..the poker movie
I watched All In today. It is truly not good. I dare anyone to watch it. Lucky You looks like The Godfather in comparison. I love the hand when Ace was acting dumb at the casino. 3-way all-in on the flop:
Ace: AA Shlub #1: JJ Shlub #2: QcTc Board: A-J-K-8.... KKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG U R SO GUD AT TEH POCKERS I'LL SEE YA I'LL RAISE YA HEE HEE. Also love how she continued to fold premium hands face up trying to set her opponents up, then the only hand they show is the 3-way all in hand. Brilliant. |

Re: \"All In\" ..the poker movie
I can't believe nobody's mentioned High Roller: The Stu Ungar Story, though I don't know if that even counts since they only showed about two-and-a-half actual hands.
