Re: Was I wrong to stick around?
I think you played right. If you would only check, you won´t know where you are standing here. After the raise of MP2 you called him, but on the turn, you have to bet, if he had the flush, he would raise you, if he just calls, you can bet the river, too.

Re: Was I wrong to stick around?
Do you have any reads? Would he raise a flush draw? Would he raise 2nd pair? If yes then you should see the turn.
If he would not raise here without at least TP, peeling is very thin at best. Then you likely only have 2 outs (5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] is tainted). If you are against KJ, a set, or the flush you're dead already. Does anyone like the c/r on the turn? |

Re: Was I wrong to stick around?
A read on MP2 would have been helpful.
I would have checked the flop to see what the action was like behind me. Assuming that only MP2 bet, I would have called to see the turn. If it was heads up, I would have called down unimproved if a safe turn card fell. As you improved, I would have bet the turn, rather than attempt a check raise and risk MP2 checking behind with a high flush card. |

Re: Was I wrong to stick around?
wtf seriously this isn't a bad beat forum.
This line is fine... he didn't 3-bet you on the turn so he either has a weak flush or a K with some type of kicker. If you have any type of read on the villain maybe it would have been better to c/c the turn or simply bet out... but that's more dependent on reads. Stop whining about a loss... this hand is very LV in my opinion. |

Re: Was I wrong to stick around?
Str8Fish, I don't see anyone whining about a loss here. OP asked if his flop play was good, that's all.

Re: Was I wrong to stick around?
You should really cut off your post somewhere....probably, in this case, after your turn raise. Knowing that MP2 calls you down from there is likely to influence responses.
On the flop, I don't mind the bet. But, once you get raised HU by MP2, I think you can safely cut yourself down to, at most, 2 outs without a read. Once you weight the possible hands against you, tho, your average outs are significantly less than 2 since MOST hands he'd raise you're drawing dead to. So, without some sort of read on the raiser, I'm folding this on the flop. If you do have a read that MP2'd make the flop raise with 2nd pair or worse, of course, the call is fine. If that's the case, tho, what's the point of the turn raise? The only hand that you just pulled ahead of is top-pair-with-a-better-but-unpaired-kicker, and you're not going to fold out anything you want to fold out. Edit: after some reflection, change "MOST" to "many"...even if he's protecting TPMK, tho, you're down to 3 outs, not enough to call with. |

The guy's got 42 posts...at least give him a chance to get up to speed. And, that said, YOU'RE wrong that, "This line is fine...." Against an unknown, this line sucks. |
