You guys realize that the pca is gonna have a lot of pros in it too don't you?

[/ QUOTE ]

ya but will the PCA only have 18 people in it and only pay the top 3 spots? cuz if so then [censored] that

[/ QUOTE ]

Seriously? Cmon. I would be surprised if the PCA even payed out 3 for every 18 entrys. That is way too many!

As for these pros buying in at the top. Power to them. These sitandgos have about two hours or so of play. If you pick up some cards at the right time you are gonna have a chance. You might be -ev against these guys over time but in a one shot deal every dog has his day. I mean why else play? We play to win the game. We dont play just to play the game. WE-PLAY TO-WIN THE-GAME! And to win...you are gonna have to beat these guys eventually. Be it in Step6 on Stars or at the table in Atlantis.

it will probably pay 3 spots for every 18 ppl, yes

[/ QUOTE ]

dmk the main problem in my view people have is the change Stars makes at Level 6 and why seeing all the "good" high stakes sitngoers buy straight in discourages them from the idea of playing all the way up to Level 6.

So Joe blow gets to Level 6 and obv tougher competition now with the direct buy-in'ers but also its now a 18 player sit n go instead of the 9 man tables that Level 1-5 were.
On top of that only places 1-3 pay and 4-18 get knocked out of the STEPS...where as at Level 5 places 1-6 out of 9 didn't get knocked out of the STEPS system.

If you switch over to keeping things the way they were all levels prior than I don't really see any real complaint with the direct buy-in given at worst you'll end up with something despite the tougher competition. But I totally see why people who want to start at level 1 and work their way up look at those Level 6's going and say to themselves..why bother.

Bravo... may the lords of Pokerstars grant this request...

Seriously though, this would be consistent with how Party did their Caribbean thing too - their final step was a single table tournie, with various step kickbacks on the final table, so that it wasn't an all / nothing situation, and the majority of people making a final table at least continued within the steps or walked away with something.

I don't think it was quite as generous as the above recommendation, in that 9th and maybe 8th paid nothing (or 8th may have received a small $ amount) - but their structure was 5 steps instead of 6 - so something like above might make more sense...

I like this idea. Another advantage I haven't seen anyone mention is that this structure makes it less attractive for the pros, since some of their equity is in the form of $82 and $215 tickets they may think aren't worth their time to play, so you might get softer step 6 fields.

I'm against restricting people from buyihng in directly at whichever level they chose, and I think people should be able to win multiple seats, but I would vote to change the current Step 6 structure to something with step 6/step 5/maybe step 4 seats awarded.

I do prefer this setup (3 seats for 18 entries) to winner-take-all options like the DSs and 33r.

Definitely agree with the multiple seats thing - winner-take-all blows. Stars will have problems changing their step 6s to give out step seats to finishers below top 3 though, unless they only give seats to top 2 and multiple steps tickets to finishers below that (like what, step 6 tickets to 3-6, step 5 tickets to 7-9 etc).
