Default Poker Site Discussion (Future)

How many of you are sick of PokerStars, Full Tilt, or UB for various reasons? I'm tired of each, ranging from inadequate customer support to a myriad of other reasons. I honestly wish a new company would emerge, maybe if all this legalization stuff ever gets settled, that would carry the torch into 2008.

Are there any recently developed rooms gaining steam, or any talks of one developing anytime soon? Time for something new, I'm sick of those places. They've all lost their touch in some way, shape, or form since they became so big.

What are these "myriad other reasons" - if the reasons involve "rock garden" or anything along those lines, allow me to politely suggest improving at poker rather than hoping for a pony.

I was assuming 'rigged' rather than 'rock garden' but anyways..if internet poker is legalized Harrah's and MGM will probably start up sites (or aquire sites) quicker than you could ever imagine. They will surely suck at first but once they get going they will crush the competition in the matter of a couple years due to the size of companies and the name recognition. Plus people would probably trust those companies more than the current offerings, obviously solvency not being an issue helps a ton.

Why would you assume I think poker is rigged, if I'm saying I can't wait for a new company to emerge, perhaps post-legalization because of the realization the games would be 100x better? If you really do not find a difference in the play between Party Pokers USA era and the current state of online poker, your head is in the sand.

I would actually think that they'd be more likely to try and acquire the existing rooms as a way to ensure player base. If I owned Stars, I'd be very interested in some kind of cash + equity offer from MGM or Harrahs...

I agree, and I think Poker Stars would be crazy not to take any reasonable deal. Even if they were allowed to eventually participate in the US market legally, I think the big casino conglomerates would take over. Poker Stars has most likely already given up their right to participate in legal US gambling by continuing in the US market to this point.
