the flop call is just so, so bad.

OP forget about river and start thinking about why you cant call the flop. Flop play is a HUUUUUUUGE mistake

plz elaborate. im very new to limit again and i want to absorb all the wisdom i can get. a more detailed explanation of why the flop call was so bad would be greatly appreciated, otherwise i will continue along thinking that i simply "missed value"

You have to jam the flop now when you have players in the pot. But basically you should always jam your monsters on the flop also in HU pots. If you dont jam the flop you wont get multiple bets in on BOTH flop and turn.

But its even more important in multiway pots to get bets in while you have people trapped.

Also waiting for the turn is a strong line for many players. When you just jam the flop people will think you have a good draw and jam a good 2nd best hand with you.

Well, you would be right, but getting value for your good hands is kinda important.

BTW, I'm less sure about river being such an easy call as I made it out to be after rereading the HH. AA, QQ and JJ are not impossible, but should obviously be discounted a lot. A4 (and Q4s/J4s) is still a very real possibility and we risk shutting out SB, when we're best anyway.

So I still just call here.

much too thin...

just call and try to get the overcall.

Hes representing a full house.. maybe he doesnt have it because he just limp/called preflop, but you make the same if you get the overcall had you raised and he called.

may we know what he actually had? it's often not helpful to know that as it can lead us to being results oriented. but this hand is a very interesting exercise in hand reading and can provide additional insight into the donk mentality.

I'm only losing to A4. And the SB is probably going to call two on the river anyway.

Since we just called the flop, this guy probably doesn't put us on a flopped straight.

You guys can all call, but I'm raising, because the hero is winning.

raise flop, and raise the river.

Two full house combos are likely pf folds (Q4 and J4) and 3 other full house hands are pf raises (JJ QQ AA). so that only leaves A4 that you really need to worry about, and villain has AQ, QJ, AJ, etc enough to make this value.

raise the flop

you have the nuts on a 3broadway card flop

no ones going anywhere get your money in there

on the river

if you think sb cant lay his hand down

go for the raise

if you think he'll fold for two more

go for the overcall
