NL50 Dfending the BB with suited connectors
Full Tilt Poker
No Limit Holdem Ring game Blinds: $0.25/$0.50 6 players Converter Stack sizes: UTG: $47.70 UTG+1: $41.70 CO: $9.90 Button: $50.00 SB: $58.35 Hero: $74.30 Pre-flop: (6 players) Hero is BB with T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 3 folds, Button raises to $1.75, SB folds, Hero folds. Uncalled bets: $1.25 returned to Button. Results: Final pot: $1.25 Just curious what kind of connectors + 1 gappers you defend the BB with in spots like these? I assume there's a difference depending on the read of the player raising. Against a 22/19 type player is this an auto 3 bet PF? I've been folding these unless there is another caller in the pot already. |

Re: NL50 Dfending the BB with suited connectors
I think 3-betting, calling and folding are fine given a situaton. Doing any one of them every time is bad though. Personally I like to defend so I don't fold much here unless the button never steals.

Against a 22/19, yes, I always 3-bet.

I think all options are fine too as long as you mix them up...

Re: NL50 Dfending the BB with suited connectors
Depends on range of the guy who is opening, how often he opens and how he plays postflop. Another thing is if the guy plays only a few % of hands it isn't really worth calling w/ this hand because sc are hard to disguise the strength of oop!

Against a 22/19, yes, I always 3-bet. [/ QUOTE ] this is a huge leak. there are very very few hands you should always 3-bet, and SCs definitely arent in that category (not even AKs). This is a spot where you can choose any of the 3 options to vary your play. which is best at any given time depends on any relevent history and reads on villain. If there is no history then just mix it up. |

Re: NL50 Dfending the BB with suited connectors
I would chk his att. steal % and repop him if its greater than 22%. You have to be willing to fire at any flop.
I rarely call, there would have to be at least 3 players already in for a raise. |

Re: NL50 Dfending the BB with suited connectors
I reckon something like 5% reraise, 5% call, 90% fold would be good. But then I'm not a massive fan of 'defending'.

Re: NL50 Dfending the BB with suited connectors
I don't defend my blind often. If he raises any 2 on button and I've been giving it up.. I'll pop him back. If he has been quiet I fold.
