http://www.dmnnewswire.com/articles/...e.jsp?id=56798

[ QUOTE ]

SANTA MONICA, Calif., Aug. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- GSN is extending an invitation to Jamie Gold, who just won the 2006 World Series of Poker main event, to play in the next season of HIGH STAKES POKER on GSN.

Gold won over $12 million by outlasting over 8,000 players in the "World Series of Poker" main event. If he accepts the invitation, Gold will be taking on top professionals in a cash game where every player puts up $100,000 or more of their own money to play.

The third season of HIGH STAKES POKER will be taped in Las Vegas. The tape date, location and complete field of players will be announced later.

Jamie will eventually trick the likes of Greenstein, Brunson and Negreanu into giving him all their chips.

He doesn't play the cards, he plays the people.

This will be a good idea if Jamie Gold doesn't like money.

Finally, someone Mike Matusow and Phil Helmuth can finally take money from on HSP.

wouldn't this be a good move for Jamie - even realizing it's -EV?

if he buys in for 100,000k he gets the tv time - surely good for endorsements. he could even get lucky and win. it wouldn't surprise me if bodog even put up some of the money for this.

Good point trying2learn - former WSOP champions usually have a hard time getting face time on televised poker shows. Jamie Gold would definitely be smart to buy in to a cash game where he is almost undoubtedly overmatched.

He can get at least 5 appearances on Poker Superstars IV for $50k, much better deal.
