Re: $50 to $10k
[ QUOTE ]
its a bitch??? turning 50 to 10k in 3 weeks playing online poker is far from being a bitch [/ QUOTE ] someone who can do this can make far more over the span of the month if they just started at 2/4NL. it's a bitch to relegate yourself to making $5/hour every few weeks when you're accustomed to making $200/hour. |

Re: $50 to $10k
[ QUOTE ]
Isn't there some thing on full tilt where Chris Ferguson built up 10k from $0 in 16 months? Starting with $50 would speed that up a lot. But claiming to be able to do it in 3 weeks is a bit hard to swallow. I suppose it is possible. Like the fact that I don't know a single person losing money at poker. But you would have to play very risky and be very lucky. 3 to 6 months seems more reasonable. [/ QUOTE ] Seems like you would have to multi-table morning, noon and night, 24/7, nonstop, in order to do it with a minimum of risk. We've probably all had good runs, but I would guess it would take two months for most people who are good, smart players. But that's assuming you are sticking to your ground rules, and it can be hard to do that. |

Everest, building $10k out of essentially nothing. |

I'm good, but not a huge winner and $10,000 is a lot of money to me and starting from a free roll sounds like fun. Keep in mind that most of the internet players are probably not seasoned, lifelong poker grinders, but rather, fairly new to the game. So the idea of easy money fast appeals to us. I mean, how many people can make $10,000 in six weeks sitting at home literally on their butts? |

Re: $50 to $10k
[ QUOTE ]
Winning $40 at NL $2 is 2000 big blinds, ~ 4000 hands. Winning $75 at NL $5 is 1500 big blinds, ~ 5000 hands. Winning $250 at NL $10 is 2500 big blinds, ~ 12,500 hands. Winning $425 at NL $25 is 1700 big blinds, ~ 11,500 hands. Winning $1200 at NL $50 is 2400 big blinds, ~ 20,000 hands. Winning $3000 at NL $100 is 3000 big blinds, ~ 30,000 hands. Winning $5000 at NL $200 is 2500 big blinds, ~ 31,000 hands. That totals 114,000 hands. If you get 300 hands per hour due to 4-tabling, that is 380 hours of play. [/ QUOTE ] You have to start with more money to make things a lot easier. Minimum should be 500$. You have to add time for reviewing hands, table selection and so on. I guess the winrates are resonable but not conservative. With 500$ and fulltime playing 100 hours a month you can do it in 3-5 month. |

Re: $50 to $10k
I think that you should give yourself some time to do it in and don't set a time requirement. That is what hurt my game the most, I thought I had to win x amount of dollars by a certain date and then forced myself to get action which made me lose a lot of money. Take your time, play where your comfortable at, and if your a successful player you'll have no problem getting there.

[/ QUOTE ] Yes thats right. but you should have a plan how much how many hands you play. Make a kind of a business plan if you take it serious and stick to it. Easy to say very difficult to acomplish. |
