Re: Stars 4/180 - KQs in SB, early limper
Deep I'm just completing this here, in this spot I'm usually shoving, unless this guy is like 15/14 over 200 hands then all the sudden limps UTG. Then I'd probably get worried for a second, talk myself out of it, and shove anyway.

I don't think we're short enough to jam.

OK, I completed. Here´s what happened:
Preflop: Hero is SB with Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. 1 fold, UTG+1 calls t150, 5 folds, Hero completes, BB raises to t450, UTG+1 calls t300, Hero ??? |

I think we pretty much have to call getting 3.5:1.
also, we're short, which negates most of the positional disadvantage since the flop is gonna be one swift move from us. |

Call is fine. You have, imo, the best implied odds hand in the game.

Re: Stars 4/180 - KQs in SB, early limper
calls initial raise...
ugly spot with no reads but I guess I fold to reraise...tough to bluff two people and hand is mediocre to play 3 way out of position...if you read them as probing around and feel like gambling you can push the second time around but you are no really repping a big hand...still people make bad folds |

Re: Stars 4/180 - KQs in SB, early limper
My vote:
I like the call to start with, and I fold to the raise. To me, you aren't short enough to be pushing with KQ, and if you call you are blowing off 25% of your stack while out of position and likely beat. If this is a new table, the BB doesn't have any reads on you, either, so I don't think it is likely that he raises with air. Just my thoughts, please comment. |

Re: Stars 4/180 - KQs in SB, early limper
In a $4 im sorry im just not giving a limper any credit at all. a shove will almost certainly pick up 375 in the pot which is important. i don't think the limp in the first place is that bad, however the call of the raise seems pretty marginal. i'd imagine the plan is to c/r all-in any strong draw or top pair? seeing how often you'll miss + how often you're beat when you get it in i like a push better.
if bb is very loose i don't think a limp+reraise all-in is out of the question given the dead money in the pot. |
