Default Discussion I\'m having with my friends about a HU SNG(input needed)

Ok, we're playing HU.

Blinds are 15/30

Friend raises to 78
I raise to 250 with AK

flop is 4/a/4

needless to say we get it all in and he turns over 8-4 off and justifies his call by saying that he put me on 9's -Aj pre-flop. Is there any justification for his call?

Also:

I was told I needed to raise more pre-flop because he was getting 2:1 on his money, but why call when you're not a 2:1 fav in the range of hands given that I'm on.

Also.

He wouldn't call a re-raise there with a-8.

Depends on stack-sizes (like if you're super deep) but almost certainly there is no justification and almost certainly your friend is a moron.

seems like your friend is dumb. And giving him 2:1 is fine. You are not scared to see a flop; and AK might easily share one of his cards and he won't evem have 2:1.

Your friend could be right, how deep were the stacks?

Ty, more input would be great.

In his defense he is raising from the button.

First sign that your friend is an idiot would be him raising to 78 preflop.

/End thread.

Sounds like your friend is some maniac degen, calling that 3-bet with 84 is gross. Keep playing him.

you had to be super deep so your friend could make that call profitably.

I probably would fold his hand pf.
