River: (t480) T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
SB checks, Hero checks.

Final Pot: t480

I weak bet the flop, really hoping for a raise, but i guess i was also a bit scared. It seems as if all of my cbets have been folded when i have the set. I figure he is drawing pretty dead anyway.

River made me puke. Any k rag would kill me, and i dont see the fun in a craise.

Or am i a moron for not betting the river? If so, how much and how do i respond to a raise?

God don't weak bet the flop, if he has a piece of that he's continuing. Make a damn normal bet and let him do what he wants to do.

You make a bet, since there is really no reason to fear a K specifically. Why would K rag have called all the way here? You need to make a value bet, say 250-300. If he raises, it depends. If he pushes all-in, you may fold, otherwise you're probably calling due to chances of 2 pair etc.

I agree with Soulman. I'm betting ~350 on the river for value. You'll see two pair a heck of a lot more than you'll see the straight, I think.

That flop bet is awful.

I would raise more preflop because you will get called and you want to build the pot

when you flop a monster you want to play for the villain's stack. You don't want to try to squeeze out one little bet when he is bluffing. Bet the damn flop and build a pot.

If you bet he will call you with any ace, any jack, any flush draw, and maybe even a gutterball. 3/4 pot on the flop at least although I pot it every time. Your play is really bad. Really bad.

Bet the turn too, at least 180.

By the time that you have gotten to the river you really f'ed up the hand. I would probably bet 220-350 and fold to a raise. He is not going to run a bluff checkraise often here because he won't expect you to value bet thin. You have to valuebet this every time because there are a ton of 2 pair hands that he could have that will call your bet.

Poorly played all around.

I'd agree with Soulman here. Plus that is such a scary board I think he has to bet with a king there because anyone without a king will probably just check behind. If he has a king I'd seriously doubt that he'd go for a check-raise on the river.

If he does in fact check-raise the river, I think it's a pretty easy fold unless you've seen him get tricky before. I think you can be pretty confident with a small value bet on the river here though.

Definitely a bigger PF raise. I don't think players value a 3BB raise in the first couple of levels and will happily call 5-10bb raise if they have any sort of hand at all.

You have to c-bet bigger on the flop and if he is still in the hand you should push the turn since the board is getting too scary. If he already has a hand he will call, if he is waiting on the flush/straight you have to make him pay to see the river.

As played, bet river and fold a c/shove.
