Sunday evening tournaments in Atlantic City?
I am going to be in Atlantic City tomorrow (Sunday) night and I'm having trouble finding listings of tourneys that will be going on that day from, like, 5pm or later...
I'll be near Taj/Showboat -- what tourneys or SNGs are there? I saw the Hilton has a $75 NLH tourney at 6pm, which I suppose is a possibility -- but I was hoping for something a little higher stakes (especially if I have to get all the way to the Hilton!) I suppose a cab ride to the Borgata is possible. What are my options? Thanks in advance. |

Re: Sunday evening tournaments in Atlantic City?
I have not been to AC in a year but the TAJ ran a tourney every night at apporx 6:30. Busy nights of the week buy in was 100 or 200 quiet nights buy in was 50. Im guessing Sunday's would be 100.
But its a decent structure and they will probably have a minimum of 100 people. Probably your best option. Cant find it on their website so id guess you would have to call. The tropicana also used to have a decent turnout (close to 100 players). They have an 80 on Sunday nights at 7:15. I have my doubts on the Hilton. Considering their room must be new i doubt it will be a big field. I'd avoid Bally's and the Sands also, their rooms are very small. |

Re: Sunday evening tournaments in Atlantic City?
Hilton changes their poker tournament schedule frequently. I think they are still trying to find something that works. Their Sunday night tournaments are now listed as $20+$15 (?!?) at 7pm. and $40+10 at 11pm. Maybe the $20+15 is a rebuy tournament?? It is not clear from their website. |

Stay away from the Sands, you won't make a dime playing there. Nobody plays poker at the Sands anymore.

Re: Sunday evening tournaments in Atlantic City?
I'm surprised that the Hilton, Showboat, Bally's (last of the smoking rooms) and Caesar's poker rooms are still open, really. They only run tournies and 1/2NL & 2/4 HE. There's too many rooms in AC right now.
If there were only Borgata, Taj, Trop & Harrah's, that would keep all of those rooms full almost every day. I'm guessing the new casino going up on the Sands property will probably have a poker room also. And probably have lots of 1/2 & 2/4.... |
