Just to make it clear why looking at career W/L records and declaring that Roethlisberger must be better than Palmer is stupid, here are the DVOA rankings for Cincinatti's and Pittsburgh's defenses from 2004, when both Palmer and Roethlisberger started playing, through the first half of 2007:

Pittsburgh: 13th, 2nd, 10th, 2nd.
Cincinatti: 14th, 20th, 25th, 29th.

Don't you think the fact that QB1 has had one of the league's best defenses, while QB2 has had probably the league's worst defense makes their relative W/L records a very poor way to compare them?

EDIT: Misquoted Cincy's '04 defense ranking. Also, damn this thread is moving fast; the whole post was obsolete before I hit submit.

Varlos, don't you know anything? Ben Roethlisberger WINS GAMES. Carson Palmer clearly doesn't.

If you'd read the thread, you'd know that OP has ignored any and all logic and prefers to judge QBs by SB rings.

In fact, give me Trent Dilfer over that bum Palmer.

Teams in the same division play the same schedule except for 2 games.

Oh rly? That's a pretty big deal when the majority of NFL teams finish with between 6 and 10 wins. 2 games is often times the difference between making the playoffs and having a .500 or worse record.

You never know, some people just haven't heard the Good News yet. We can't condemn this soul to Sports Fan Hell without first making an honest effort to spread the Word. That's why, in my last post, I decided to call his method of judging QBs "very poor," instead of "profoundly retarded."

QB rating is such a stupid stat. I prefer my personal stats it goes likes this.
Pass attempts*[(pi-e)YPA - ln(Touchdowns/pa^2) - sin(Interceptions/pa)] use radians not angles. If you really want you can make it 2ln(touchdowns/pa)
