Is it just me or does it seem like the Skins are terribly coached in pass coverage?

Every week we get a stupid PI call because none of our DBs ever tries to locate the ball in the air and actually defend the pass but rather goes for a hit. None of our DBs seem to know that faceguarding is legal. Our DBs give massive cushions, never seem to bump receivers at the line, and don't seem to recognize routes well at all and rather play not to get burned. So we end up rarely getting burned deep but instead get dink and dunked all over.

Edit: I'm also a little disappointed with Campbell's accuracy and touch. His passes seem to routinely be high and/or behind the receiver. He throws a really flat deep ball that just hasn't seemed very effective.

why try to force that pass w/ Terrence Newman baiting you to throw it across your body, while you're scrambling...

dammit Jason Campbell, you gotta' be better than that...we gave that f'ing game to Dallas

Anyone else hate Joe Gibbs's decision to kick the FG on 4th and 1 from the 40 in the 2nd quarter? I really wanted to punt. If we miss the kick we give Dallas really good field position and a 50 yard try is pretty tough. My three choices (in order) were 1. punt 2. go for it 3. kick the FG.

I didn't like going for it either b/c the score was 7-0 at that point and if we get stopped the momentum swing is HUGE. I think it's better to try to pin them deep in their own territory.

Going for it is by far the best option.

Just an awful loss today. Defense played fantastic (they kept us in a game where we committed 6 turnovers), but we just can't seem to come through in the clutch. We scored 10 points on something like 350 yds in the second half. Campbell needs to stop turning it over on those last minute drives (3 INTs in his past 3 such drives).

We needed this win badly and we would've been in great position for the final WC spot with all the other teams losing. Now we face the task of winning out to even have a shot. Looking very, very bleak.

I agree. JC plays so well unless it is the last drive of the game, at which point he cannot get it in the EZ. Is this like the 5th game this year where we are within 1 score, with the ball in opponent territory late in the 4th quarter and don't score?

That and he needs to work on his deep ball- more so his touch than his accuracy (though that could use improvement too).

We don't have to win out even after this loss to make the playoffs. We just have to beat the teams we're competing against (Vikings and Bears) and go 2-1 versus the Bills/Cowboys @ home and Giants in NY. If we can pull this off (feels unlikely but who knows?) we own tiebreakers over the Lions (nasty upcoming schedule) and the Cardinals. Not sure if we own a tiebreaker over Eagles.

Sean Taylor was shot in his home in Florida in what was apparently a robbery. There are conflicting reports. He was either shot in the leg and is now in critical condition or in the groin and it is not life threatening. Here's hoping it's the latter.

Just started a thread about Taylor. Or we could discuss in here.
