I'm no audiophile, but it sounds really good to me. Plenty of power and bass for my apartment living, plenty of speakers to go full surround if you want to. I'm pretty sure I remember reading that the receiver is particularly good, so when you want to start upgrading piecemeal, you can start with a solid foundation in the receiver.

I got it as a gift, actually... the gf somehow managed to find her way to avsforum.com all by herself and used them to pick this package out.
