Ok two situations that are in a way similar and dangerous.

I'm not sure why you think hand #1 is dangerous. The way you played it is fine.

Hand #2, I don't think you can just check fold the flop. What indication is there that someone has you beat? And you fold to a bet that is less than half the pot? I would definitely bet out $40 or so.

WHAT THE [censored] ARE YOU DOING IN HAND 2? THIS IS LIKE THE WORST I'VE EVER SEEN A HAND PLAYED ON THE FLOP. PLEASE TELL ME ITS NOT TRUE.

I would probably do something fancy like lead $25 or $30 on the flop in hand 1 and obviously call a shove, but this line is also fine. I wouldn't mind just calling either and seeing if anyone else comes along. Then you can open shove the turn.

Ok guys I termed it dangerous because these games are REALLLLLY set-miney. Seeing flops four-way with AA in a big pot with generally nitty players isn't my favorite situation.
I also am out of position on both hands.

On Hand 1, button had QQ which kinda tilted me and caused me to play Hand 2 so terribly. This is basically why I felt bad enough to post it. Hand 2 was very soon after, and a very similar scenario, four people putting in a very large bet preflop while I hold AA. I think I steamed that so many people called the 16, and the flop was a set-miner's delight and I pussed out. For the record, bet and stack off on flop is the consensus approach here? Bet and fold to raise seems kinda dumb.

Hand 1: I push preflop
Hand 2: SPRs are in the commitment range, but I dont feel good about stacking off here, but will.

Hand 1 I think you have to push preflop with all the action. You only want one call.

Hand 2 I stack off as well. Sure, 79 and sets are in his range but so are OESDs and overpairs....I would bet out as well.....

I push pf in hand 1 and raise on the flop in hand 2.
