[100nl] Flop bottom 2 out of BB, facing heat from UTG limper
Full Tilt Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $1 BB (9 handed) Hand History converter Courtesy of PokerZion.com
MP2 ($100) MP3 ($66.40) CO ($99) Button ($84.55) SB ($19) Hero ($214.60) UTG ($100) UTG+1 ($99.50) MP1 ($103.80) Preflop: Hero is BB with 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. UTG calls $1, 3 folds, MP3 calls $1, 3 folds, Hero checks. Flop: ($3.50) 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players) Hero bets $2.5, UTG raises to $11, MP3 folds, Hero ? UTG is 15/4 over 100 hands. What should my plan be here, I just see a lot of ugly situations arising. If I raise and he reraises I'm feeling sick, if I raise and he just calls, then ugly turn comes and he wants to get it in, feeling sick. |

Re: [100nl] Flop bottom 2 out of BB, facing heat from UTG limper
Fold. I would recommend never playing bottom two pair for a big pot from the blinds in a limped pot. Even when you are ahead, you aren't ahead by much. And when you are behind, you are practically drawing dead. This is a great reverse implied odds situation in which you stand to win a little, or lose a lot.
So, the flop bet for $2.5 is good. Fold to the big raise. |

Re: [100nl] Flop bottom 2 out of BB, facing heat from UTG limper
You are behind one combo of 33 and one of 88. He could have A3 (6) or A8 (6). AA is also possible (3 combos), as he might have tried a limp-reraise. That's a total of 17 combos.
On the other hand, there's 12 combos of every Ax he might have limped UTG and raises you now, thinking "Hero would have raised AQ+, so my AJ must be good". He is not going to raise here with A7, and he would have raised preflop with AQ+, so there is a limited number of kickers he could have. Overall, i think you are ahead of his range. I'd call and reevaluate on the turn. |
