Default Random discussion thread from March 21 - some later date

A few people have asked for a separate "general chatter" thread, so here it is.

Awesome..now when my boss thinks I'm writing development notes...I'm actually here. hahaha

I had heard great things from several people who had seen early cuts, my boss is old friends with Scott Frank so I may be getting biased opinions, and last night was the premiere. Everything I heard back was very good...so "The Lookout" is def a movie you should check out eventhough it might not get much PR. I doubt it will last long in theatres. Its just not the type of film to catch on with the "wild hogs" public. Frank has always been a fantastic writer and this is his first stab at directing. http://www.apple.com/trailers/mirama...kout/trailer1/

I'm sick of the 2008 election...eventhough it is still only 2007. I hope Hagel runs...eventhough I'm not sure he has any chance to win.

And if you don't wander into L n L this is a gem...

General chatter:

If anyone is flipping through HBO, and see's George Lopez's Americas Mexican, or this other mexican comic that has a bad mullet (I dont know his name). Do me a favore watch some of it, and tell me if I am being over-sensitive at some of the things that are being said in thier bits. I find a lot fo the racial humor stuff pretty funny, but I think that these too are just trying to incite stuff.

Quick PB sushi trip report.

Jayrockets and I just got back from there. We ordered the Vegas roll, Caterpillar roll, and fire fire roll. All of them were excellent but vegas was the best. It had chopped fish, crab, avacado, cream cheese and mb some other stuff, all deep fried.

I've only had sushi 2-3 times and the most recent other than today I was totally blacked out, but now I am in love with it.

Is there anything more annoying than a celebrity who wants all of us to: "respect their privacy?" Brittney Spears is the latest to demand that the media back off of her.

If we "respected their privacy" from the beginning, they wouldn't be celebrities, and consequently, wouldn't have millions. They prostitute themselves in front of every camera, red carpet, and magazine cover when times are good, then cry for privacy rights when going through rehab or divorce.

I think that if you are going put yourself out into the public spotlight, you have to take the good with the bad.

I don't know why this particular type of hypocrisy bothers me so much. It just does.

Here's something I dealt with at school. My mailbox went over quota. I didn't really notice because I have my mail forwarded to gmail. I went into the webmail version of my email account to delete all the messages but couldn't. To delete messages you actually copy them to the trash where they are then completely purged. Unfortunately, when your box is full it won't let you copy. So when your mailbox is full it won't let you delete anything.

On a similar note, if you don't pay your bill you get a hold placed on your account. Among other things the hold won't allow you to register, order transcripts etc. More importantly, it also prevents you from paying your bill.

I find the PR people who ask us to "respect the privacy" of the celebrities to be more annoying than the celebrities themselves.

[/ QUOTE ]they already are taking the good with the bad. they knew that when they were going in. what does it hurt to ask for privacy to reduce stress when you are already stressed out? i mean if it helps a little bit, then it was worth it.
