Default Sick of losing > Sick of poker

I guess it's time for a LONG break from poker. It's not fun anymore -- hasn't been for some time.

I used to love all those bad beats. It was amusing to have my flopped set cracked by a 2-outer or runner-runner.

But after the 1500th time, it gets old.

Of course, they're not all bad beats and coolers. Lots of missed flush draws while everyone else seems to make theirs. And then just getting outplayed badly.

Just tonight:

QsQc on a flop of AK5 (two hearts) with four other players. There's bet, a call, and a raise, so I fold. Winning hand from three remaining players was just a pair of tens.

I obviously suck at poker. All that time spent reading books, studying hands, and playing -- what a waste!

Sorry to hear about it. I know how it feels. I'm sure some jerk will come along to make fun of you for not being able to beat the $1/$2 games. Ignore him. Poker is damn tough, and I seem to have hit a wall at a level well below what I think I should be capable of. I see all these stories of guys plowing through each limit in 5000 hands at 4BB/100 and demolishing the 50/100 game within a year, and you think it should be the norm. It's not.

But don't give up yet. 25k hands really isn't that much. Take a break, do something else, and come back ready to kick ass.
