Wtf that is the worst scoring system ever. A solo tackle equals a sack, INT, FF or Fumble recovery???? Do you guys even watch football?

[/ QUOTE ]

I agree. You pretty much just pick the guys who get the most tackles every week (Im playing Patrick Willis, London Fletcher, EJ Henderson, and Michael Boley, hmmm, linebackers on teams with a combined record of 14-26, surprise). I didn't set the scoring.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yea so complain and change your scoring system next year to a more realistic one like say...mine

I dont like IDP because generally with offensive FF players if you have a great player it will translate into points.

That isn't true of a lot of IDP players, Champ Bailey being a really good example.

[/ QUOTE ]

Last year using my scoring system Champ was the best DB in the league and 5th overall out of all defensive players. This year he's having a downyear though.

Seems like picking DB/S who return kicks or punts is a sure winning strategy.

That's why you shouldn't have yards for kicks/punt returns imo.

All the complaining about "great defensive players don't translate into big fantasy points" posts exemplify why I love playing in leagues with individual defensive players.

Idiots start "stacking" their teams with guys who they like personally, or who are great real-life defensive players. I stack my team with guys I've never heard of who put up tons of tackles and dominate the "luckiest" aspect of the game

Yeah, I personally don't understand rooting for a team defense, it is boring to me. My league uses this scoring, it is generally pretty good. I wish that Yahoo would distinguish between DL/LB though, it is hard to make DLs as good as LB tackling machines. But if you pay attention you can figure out who is good. It's not like other aspects of fantasy sports are perfect mirrors of reality either.

Tackle Solo (1)
Tackle Assist (0.5)
Sack (4)
Interception (3)
Fumble Force (2)
Fumble Recovery (1)
Touchdown (6)
Safety (2)
Pass Defended (1)

Epipen's system is interesting I may try something more like that next year.

I got 2 problems with your system. How on earth is a sack worth more than an INT. A sack isn't even a turnover, is more common and a team still keeps possession.

Also a pass deflected should be more than a tackle. A pass deflected automatically gives them no yardage and is usually a very good play. A tackle almost all the times results in gained yardage for the offense and sometimes the person making the tackle is the one who should have defended the play better ie. the cornerback or saftey.

Those are good points. This is our second year of idp, we modified a few things from the first year so it is sort of evolving. The sacks were beefed up a little in a somewhat unsuccessful attempt to add value to DLs. As far as PDs, we may well make them worth more next year. It would definitely help the value of corners along with more points for INTs.

Trust me use this system you won't regret it.

Solo tackle = 1
Tackle assist = .75
Sack = 3
INT = 5
Forced Fumble = 4 (can also make worth 3 if you want)
Fumble Recovery = 3 (can also make worth 2 if you want)
PD = 1.5 (can also make worth 2 if you want)
Block Kick = 3
TD = 4

Epipen, how many IDPs do you play each week? It looks like they're capable of putting up pretty big points with that scoring.
