No reads on villain at all, but his name was xxx420blaze or something, so I assume he is awful. Table had been extremely tight. Comments on all streets plz

Re: NL25 AQ with no idea what to do
preflop is fine, you may want to fold readless though (larger raise size)
On the flop I'd call and fold the turn if he leads, he could have TT/QQ/KK and be cbetting hoping you don't have an ace, but that's all you beat. |

Re: NL25 AQ with no idea what to do
Well, you can either repop him or call and see what he does on the turn. Calling is the best option to save you money, obviously, but it requires a special kind of villain, namely one who isn't a psychopath.
Psychopaths will usually shutdown if you repop, though. So you have to figure out whether you're dealing with a psychopath or not. |

Re: NL25 AQ with no idea what to do
i would raise villain cuz your HU and he reraised your CO, sometimes that means he missread a steal attempt and might call with less of a hand, he also might have QQ KK ..raise and fold to an all in, fold if he leads on the turn

Re: NL25 AQ with no idea what to do
I agree with above, definitely at least call here. Repop is good too.
Lead the turn as well. |

Re: NL25 AQ with no idea what to do
Raise/fold sounds good to me. Looks like a probing bet with KK/QQ, but could be JJ(J) trying to get value.

Re: NL25 AQ with no idea what to do
Good analysis all, I called and checked to river, he showed 89 of hearts. I like reraising though. Thanks everyone

Re: NL25 AQ with no idea what to do
read on villain's name: quite likely to be an aggro-donk.
I'm not sure that I like the flat call pf. If he's three betting tight you should just fold. If (as seems likely but I always overestimate this) he is three betting light you should probably just shove and suck up the variance, or be prepared to have some very tricky post flop decisions. If this was AQo this would certainly be a bad call, as calling for 6 outs that don't have much implied odds oop -> bad. With the flush possibility as well you can maybe make an argument for calling, I'm not sure. On the flop we are playing for stacks. That's the decision we made when we called preflop: if we hit TP, we are ahead of his range. otherwise, you have to fold preflop. So now you can think about extraction, not 'defining your hand'. On a dry flop where we are WA/WB calling the cbet and check-calling the turn is good, or you could CRAI in some situations. |
