we have a hypothetical situation where shoving and folding are both neutral EV, who in SSNL goes for shoving (good for metagame) and folding (reduce variance).

you can also state your reasons after as well if you like....

Depends on the situation. If I have a situation where shoving 94o preflop is neutral ev I'd take it. Also depends on who you're playing, I'm obv more likely to shove for meta vs a reg.

SSNL often have a very large db, so meta isn't that important for ssnl. I fold to reduce variance, cuz i also feel i play worse when on a downswing.

Vs a reg, with which I will certainly play again in the future, I will shove for metagame. Against any unknown random donkfish, I certainly fold.

Good point, but I think this is beyond the scope of the question. Neutral EV for a 94o shove means that the conditions are more favorable than usual for shoving 94o. Seems like the question assumes "all other factors equal".

The 94o example was an exaggeration. My point was that if my shove will make me look retarded I'm more likely to make it. Like if I have bottom pair and a shove on the flop will be neutral ev because of pot odds, fe and chance of ourdrawing villain I' more likely to take it than a neutral situaion with TPGK or something that villain is likely to consider somewhat standard.

If I am comfortable at the current stake (30+ buy ins) I shove, if I am taking a shot (20-30bi), I fold to reduce variance.

shove. Seems like a stupid question. Metagame is a benefit, variance makes no difference to your long term winnings.
