I like 15-20 min. Anything more than that and I can't get myself to wake up and I'll feel terrible all day.

I enjoy a nice 30-45 minute nap , I can go up to about 2 hours before my body thnks its sleeping and then i want to kill kittens if someone wakes me up.

Also lets hear it for the weed nap! Which I think is a totally separate kind of nap

Naps totally rule.

As far as cycles go, it's proven that 15 minutes is extremely effective and way more healthy than caffeine. You may want to stretch it to 20 to allow for the dozing off time.

Beyond that you see serious diminishing returns, but I read due to sleep cycles 45 and 90 minute naps are also acceptable. For whatever reason if you wake up in between these times (say, 30 or 60 minutes) then it throws your body clock off. Or so I read.

We have a huge office and only a few people so in between work and crackmonkey posting sometimes I'll slip unseen into an office that has four cubes in it. I have a chair in there and I can hide behind the cubes for a power nap. I do this 2-3 times/week.

I love naps but I can never make myself get up when I say I will. So many of my "just an hour" naps have turned into 3 or 4 hour ones.

Hate naps. I always wake up from them disoriented, drenched in sweat, and seemingly more tired than before.

I'm assuming that the work environments where a 15 minute nap during the day is acceptable are few and far between. That seems too bad, because it seems like such naps are (anecdotally at least) nearly universally helpful in terms of restoring focus.

There was a time where for whatever reason I was very interested in sleep and naps and did a lot of online digging around and actually read a pretty heavy book dedicated to sleep research. Some of the stuff stuck with me, like that 15/45/90 thing.
