Re: QQ vs AM
Doing the math, and correct me if I'm wrong. We get a bit more equity out of AK by shoving preflop then we do calling then shoving the flop with no A/K.
Equity calculations = All in pre (0.56)(504.40) - (0.44)(504.40) = 282.464 - 221.936 = $60.53 equity Call pre (0.66)(173)-(0.33)(173) = 114.18 - 57.09 = $57.09 equity This is assuming that if an A/K comes we fold, if an A/K doesn't come he folds. Also based on A or K coming 1/3 of the time. I think its also better to shove pre, as it folds out hands that are trying to resteal which might out flop us. Again if you're getting it in on that low flop, AA / KK is stacking us no matter what. Only significant hand that changes on the flop is AK, AA / KK are staying largely the same on a low flop, so really its a matter of if you're prepared to get it all in on that low flop, you have to maximize against his range, which means getting it in pre flop vs AK against seeing flop then deciding. |

good post. what about the times I flop a set on an AQx or KQx board and stack him? [/ QUOTE ] Honestly, I suck at maths beyond the basic level, so I don't know how to calculate this, to any degree of accuracy. It also brings up more problems which to get accurate results you'd need to know the answer. How often would he stack off with TPTK? What does he put you on? What are the chances of him being delt AK, what exactly is the percentage of the time he is holding air restealing, and what percentage of the time has he got something? I just honestly don't know. Even my above example is a little off, because there would be times when he calls and rivers you, there might be times when he would fold a K if he hits it worried about something or the other. Flop could come QJT and you hit your set but get stacked, could pair the board etc. |
